Meet the Designer

flowerheadshot.png

I've never found it easy to write about myself, but here we go... My name is Tatianna Parham and I am the "our/us/them/they" of Parwick Designs.

Here's the gist... My husband and I, with our three perfectly-flawed rescue pups, live in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. I am a cynophilist to my core (I'll save you the Google search - I love dogs). If you happen to catch me wandering about, perhaps in your yard or behind a dumpster, I am most likely trying to say 'hi' to, or rescue, an animal. I learn something new about myself every single day - which can be terrifying. I question everything. I love to laugh and I love stories. I have a master's degree in nothing that matters (that's not the official study title), and a bit of a foul mouth.

My respect for art and design started at an early age under the guidance of my father who always had an intrigue for the avant-garde. Where my father is concerned, time is art, nature is design, and people - well, people are a mystery. Instilled in me that questions inspire imagination, I have always challenged convention. I was raised to believe that anything is possible, but nothing is granted.

After years of coloring between the lines, someone I greatly respect called me a 'restless soul' (ouch, maybe?). Pushing me to do some self-discovery, I actually realized I have never been so perfectly described. The French have a term for this: raison d'etre, a soul-felt reason for being.

So, that's why I'm here. Parwick Designs is a title that allows me to be curiously creative. To view the world as a riot of layers, textures and colors.

The funny thing is, when I say I opened Parwick Designs, I should say, it opened me. I have been around the employment block (a slight preview... the first job I landed out of college was as a voice actor for a national real estate firm) but the creative contour has always been right there, shadowing my rigid lines, ready to highlight my story. My reason for being.
